One Day I'll Get There....

As of 12 PM today, it marks six months since I went in for surgery. This blog was originally suppose to be my blog for documenting my recovery from the surgery, but things changed when I got home. Surgery is never easy. I went in thinking one thing, but came home with another. Exactly six months ago I was in my hospital room feeling all woozy from the pain killers (morphine!) and trying to get my bearings back. Don't remember what was on the TV, but I did get to eat ice chips and a little later an orange gelatin cup. Sure tasted good after 21 hours of no food and drink.
Six months and I still don't feel better. Maybe I'm one of those slow healers when it comes to the inside. Bleh. Guess in time I'll type some things about my first months of post-operation recovery. Yeah, recovery yet I go to work. Oh well. Still don't know how I feel about the surgery. There is a swirling mix of happy and sad -- more sad than happy at this point. Such is life. Guess I live in a snowglobe with everything swirling around me.
If you're still reading, thank you. I'm not a good writer so pardon any shows of lameness and stupidity in advance.

My boyfriend has a talent for mangling song lyrics. This past weekend was no different. He started singing Dean Martin's "That's Amoré" with his own little flair.
Original lyrics:
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie
That's amoré
Boyfriend's mangled lyrics:
When the moon hits the pie like a pizza in your eye
That's amoré
Yes, he was craving to eat pizza, but it wasn't a full moon (new moon was on Friday) and he doesn't drink alcoholic beverages. I admit it was late in the night so I chalk up his mangled lyrics to him being sleepy. I shudder to think how he would have mangled the rest of the song had he remembered some of the words....

Sometimes things don't turn out how you thought they would. This song best describes my swirl of emotions.
"Lament" by Ultravox
Nothing like a 25 year old song that still holds some meaning. The video was filmed on the Isle of Skye off the coast of Scotland and directed by the band.

Heh. In several hours I will be out like a lightbulb. Will be offline for at least a week or two depending on how I feel while I recover. See you in a couple of weeks!

Now my brain feels better. What? A brain needs to fart too! This one was done in invisible ink. Now go twist your brains trying to figure out how I did it with my computer. Don't blame me if you burn your display with your toaster while trying to heat up the screen to see what I wrote in milk with my toothpick! XD
